The Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League season got off to a great start for a couple of local teams, but not so much for another.

In Okotoks, the Junior B Tier I Marauders defeated the Calgary Shamrocks Friday and the St. Albert Crude Sunday by identical 9-8 scores.

Lucas Harlow had a pair of goals in the opening game and added a hat trick in the second to finish with five goals on the weekend.

The Okotoks Ladies Raiders also scored a big 4 - 1 win Sunday over the Calgary Saints.

However, things didn't go as planned for the High River Heat in Junior B Tier II as they lost 24-2 to Cranbrook.
