Peyton Krebs of Okotoks will try out for Canada's World Junior Championship roster next week.

Krebs, who was drafted by Vegas in the 2019 NHL entry draft, is among 31 players invited to the try-out held in Oakville, Ontario.

Last year, Krebs captained Team Canada at the U18 World Hockey Championship.

This year, he'll compete with former Okotoks Oilers Dylan Holloway (drafted by Boston)  and Jacob Bernard-Docker (drafted by Ottawa) to make the national squad.

Krebs has five points in five games for the Winnipeg ICE since returning from an Achilles injury in November.
