The Alberta Government is throwing it's money into Calgary Based TC Energy's Keystone XL Pipeline.

Premier Jason Kenney says the Province is committing $1.5 Billion in direct investment into the project, with a further $6 Billion in loan guarantees for next year.

Kenney says the project, which will start construction immediately, will get a jump on the recovery from COVID-19 with thousands of jobs.

"This investment will immediately create nearly 7,000 jobs in Alberta this year and some 13,500 total jobs across Canada. It was also help our economy recover more quickly from the brutal impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and recession."

Kenney says the project is expected to be complete by 2023.

He estimates the province will see $30 Billion in total tax and royalty revenues from the pipeline.
