CIR Realty is doing their part to give back to communities in the Foothills and surrounding areas with $20,000 in grants.

Jenell Goodine, Marketing Coordinator for CIR Realty, says this is a bi-yearly program intended to give communities a hand up in different initiatives.

"It's a contest that we run every two years, and we give out four different $5000 grants, and it's to help the communities," she said.

Goodine says the grant program's intention is to give back to local communities who need a hand up.

"Everybody has been so great to us, so we wanted to give back," she said.

There are four categories, including non-profit organizations, community associations, youth extra-curricular activities, and local sustainability and conservation that will receive $5000 each.

The application process opened on September fourth and the program will accept applications until October fifth for all four categories, with approximately a one day approval process.

The application can be accessed at www.inmybackyardcontest.com, or at www.cirrealty.ca. The winners will be determined by a public voting platform.
