One home has been destroyed following a blaze near Priddis Wednesday afternoon.

Fire crews responded to a house on fire at 182 Ave West around 1pm. Six separate fire halls responded to the call, including the Okotoks Fire Department, the Black Diamond Department and Turner Valley, the Foothills, Redwood Meadows and Tsuu T'ina Nation Fire Departments.

A car parked near to the home was also engulfed in flames, as crews began to fight the fire.

No one was injured and the cause is still under investigation.

The family of 4... Mom, Dad, boy (10), girl (12) 4 cats and 2 large dogs are currently staying at their grandparents adult's only condo in Calgary, until their insurance company decides to give them interim funds. Also, the Red Deer Lake school made arrangements for the family to receive clothing.

Food donations can help the family, but the family is advising to keep in mind that they do have a few food allergies, including nut and almond allergies and perfume allergies.

They need someone who can clean up a hard drive on her husband's computer due to smoke damage as soon as possible. He is self-employed and needs his computer for work. They need a rental house that will accept pets while the house is being rebuilt in deep SW Calgary or Priddis Red Deer Lake school area.

Mom is a grade 8 humanities teacher who lost all her books for her classroom and would love some replacements, son loves American Ninja stuff and gymnastics and the daughter is into playing the piano, if someone has a piano or a music stand they would like to donate, that would be greatly appreciated.

Some ideas of how to help are:
Restaurant cards
Grocery cards
Everyday living items, like shoes and warm clothing
Gift cards
Pet foods
Etc....

A Go Fund me page has been set up for the family, here is the link.
