Environment Canada cancelled the Rainfall Warning issued earlier this morning.

At 3:15 a.m. today Environment Canada issued a Rainfall Warning for the Foothills area.

Between 40 to 70 mm of rain is expected today but is expected to taper off this morning.

Here's their statement:

"Heavy rain will continue with total amounts of 40 to 70 mm. Areas in the foothills will see heavy rain and embedded thunderstorms continue overnight. The rain will taper off Friday morning. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts. Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected."
