Gotta love a good grand opening!

And very happy to say our friends over at MyCityCare Okotoks are holding one tomorrow, Saturday, May 1st, to celebrate their current location becoming a little more permanent as well as a brand new program coming to the Foothills!

We caught up with the wonderful Katie Burrell, with MyCityCare Okotoks, to get all the details on their exciting new chapter.

Exciting hey!

MyCityCare found that many people are in need of clothing in the Foothills but may not be in the position to buy new clothing at times so their new shop will allow residents to come in and get what they need.

If you're wondering if you or someone you know may qualify to shop through the clothing shop, Katie says anyone is welcome.

As for the grand opening, they aren't going to have their shop quite open to the public but rather an opportunity for others to come in and see what MyCityCare is all about.

They'll also have private tours for anyone who is interested, showcasing their "new" home, new free clothing store, hygiene kits, the mobile units they can take to surrounding communities to bring street stores to people that can't make the commute to Okotoks, as well as their Cinderella Project.

Katie and her team are super proud to be able to bring these amazing programs to the community and look forward to the grand opening.

If you're interested in donating to the MyCityCare Okotoks clothing shop all clothes can be dropped off at Foothills Cleaners in the big red bins. (They are looking for new, or gently used clean clothing at the moment.)

If you are in need of clothing you can stop by the clothing shop on Wednesday's 9:30-11:30 am and can shop once every 3 weeks.

Enjoy the grand opening and thanks to MyCityCare Okotoks for all that you do in our community!
