Members of Foothills Search and Rescue are assisting in the search for a missing Calgary woman.

Calgary Police first notified the public of the search for 25-year-old Amy Fahlman on October 1.

She was last seen leaving her residence on September 29 and didn't return home.

On Wednesday, her SUV was found in a wooded area on October 4, and parties are continuing to search areas north of Cochrane for her.

Search manager with Foothills Search and Rescue, Tom Christie, says they were called in later that day.

"Foothills Search and Rescue were notified the night before last (Oct 4.), and we had six members on the ground yesterday, being Thursday. We helped search through very rugged terrain and rugged bush area. We assisted in coordinating some volunteers who also assisted us and put in a very long day."

Cochrane RCMP is leading the search, and ATVs, drones, and dirt bikes are being used in those more rugged areas to aid in the search.

Christie says Foothills Search and Rescue will continue to provide resources as needed.

"If we are tasked and asked again to commit we will provide as many resources as we can for as long as we can."

Anyone with information on Amy's whereabouts is asked to contact the Calgary Police Service at (403) 266-1234. Tips can also be submitted anonymously via Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, online at www.calgarycrimestoppers.org, or through the P3 Tips app.
