Guys. I'm honestly so proud to see so many local artists being recognized for their talents on such a big stage like the YYC Music Awards!

The YYC Music Awards are going down this Sunday, September 20th at 7p.m. and you'll recognize some of the nominees!

-Taken By Sanity: the local band hailing from Black Diamond/Chestermere, is making waves in the music scene with their cool and fresh sound. They're not new to winning but they're as grateful as ever.

When asked about how'd they celebrate Jonah of Taken By Sanity said this:

They're super grateful for all the support they have received from the Foothills:

They've been nominated for 3 awards. (Zakariah & The Prophets Emerging Artist Memorial Award, People's Choice and Group of the Year)

- Brettyn Rose: To be young and talented! Brettyn's from the DeWinton area and most locals know her as the amazing anthem singer belting it out at like ALL the local sports games and of course for her multiple nominations now!

Brettyn is super pumped to be nominated for the first time on her home turf:

And how she plan's to celebrate!:

She's up for 2 awards. (Country Recording of the Year, Zackariah & The Prophets Emerging Artist Memorial Award)

-Craig Carswell: Such a smooth and powerful acoustic sound, Craig calls High River his home and has been known for his producing skills. Little did we know he also has like all the performing skills as well!

Craig's song "Consider this Closure" is very personal to him, so when asked is it hard to play he responded with:

Even without the award win yet Craig is feeling like a winner anyways:

He's up for 1 award. (People's Choice Award)

-Kelsey Raine: An amazing free spirit us Okotokians are honored to call one of our own! Kelsey's music has a great vibe and has a lot of meaning behind it! And with a solid fan base there's no surprise she's up for her people's choice award!

Her song "Outside Looking In" has an amazing back story to it:

And of course she is super thankful for all of her fans:

She's up for 2 awards!  (Inspirational Recording of the Year, People's Choice Award)

Catch the YYC Music awards here on Sunday, September 20th at 7p.m. MST. and root for all the local talent!
