This weekend saw different results for the two Foothills Falcons basketball teams.

The girls competed in the Green and Gold basketball tournament, where they were the stars of the competition.

For their first game, they easily defeated the Centennial Coyotes with a score of 67-35, with Samantha Sommerfeldt getting 20 points and 15 rebounds.

The LCI Rams gave the Falcons a run for their money but couldn't quite topple them.

Down by one point and with the clock marching towards the end of the game, Sommerfeldt was able to get her hands on the ball and put the ball into the net with 4.6 seconds left on the clock, giving the Falcons a winning score of 76-75.

During their final game, the Falcons whopped the St. Mary Marauders with a final score of 94-54.

The boys went to Edmonton to compete in the REB Invitational, where they didn't fare as well as the girls.

They won their first game against the Strathcona Lords, with a score of 81-68.

Their second game against Kelowna was a close one that was decided by a single three-pointer with only one second left on the clock. The final score was 82-79 for Kelowna.

No matter what the boys did during their game against Western Canada High School, they couldn't get ahead, resulting in a lopsided win for Western Canada High School.

For their final game, though, the boys were able to win with a score of 82-62 against the All Saints Legends.

Both teams play against Strathmore on Tuesday, with the boys playing at 5:30 and the girls playing at 7 p.m.

Foothills Composite High School will also be hosting their alumni games on Thursday, starting at 4:30 p.m.
