The Foothills Advocacy in Motion Society (FAIM) is turning back the clock for an upcoming fundraiser.

On March 9, they’re hosting a Back to the ‘80s fundraiser at the Foothills Centennial Centre.

The event will feature a dinner, dance (with music from DJ Logan Coutts), a silent auction, and a chance to play The Price is Right.

Fundraising coordinator Jen Seinen explains what FAIM is all about.

“So Foothills Advocacy in Motion supports adults with developmental disabilities. We have many services, like employment and days services, home living, client enterprises, we just want to make people have inclusive lifestyles. With employment services we offer to help or maintain employment, really help with r resume writing, job searching, preparation, things like that. Personal development. There’s also community access support where individuals either can find something they’re passionate about, whether it’s fitness or a cooking program, where they can just be out and be an active member of the community.”

This year’s fundraiser will help to ensure FAIM’s services are readily available to those who need it.

“Right now, we are at capacity for individuals, so all donations are really going towards making the space more inclusive, a little bit bigger, with a bit more room to move. So right now our fundraising is focused on our capital campaign,” says Seinen.

FAIM has centres in Okotoks, High River, and Strathmore.

Tickets, as well as information on other upcoming events, are available on the FAIM website
