The end of October saw the return of one of the Foothills' biggest fundraisers.

For the first time in five years, the Foothills Country Hospice held its annual fundraiser gala.

It seems locals were thrilled to see the gala return, as tickets to the Gratitude & Giving Gala sold out about three weeks before the event.

Gala coordinator Debbie Hartle says the event didn't disappoint.

"The evening was enchanting, it was elegant, it was everything I thought it was going to be, it was a very very fun event."

The hospice was finally able to tally up all of the donations, which trickled in even after the event, and found that they had indeed hit their goal of $250,000.

It's quite a boost for the hospice, which needs to raise $1.7 million annually to continue offering its free services.

Donations were taken on-site, and an auction brought in a fair chunk of change, but Hartle says their sponsors contributed a significant amount to this year's total.

"The sponsorships from businesses were very rewarding, it was just so generous coming from them. $90,000 came from that sponsorship money, so it was very very generous."
