Okotoks residents will be able to get their fill of local art as the second annual Nooks and Crannies Art Festival kicks off Saturday, July 18.

Curator Melissa Cole says they'll have a slew of local artists setting up the 17 different displays.

"We put a call out to artists, last year we had nine installations and this year we will have 17, that involved over 25 artists who are all from either Okotoks or Calgary."

Cole says those who want to check out the displays can get a helping hand with a map that will be available at a number of businesses throughout Okotoks.

"So it will be throughout Elizabeth, McRae and North Railway Street Downton, we will have maps available at participating businesses or at the Okotoks Art Gallery."

Cole says all of the installations are made of recycled material which fits in nicely with Okotoks' green initiatives.

While the pieces will be available to be seen 24-7, Cole says these are "look don't touch" pieces both to avoid the spread of COVID-19 but also to maintain the pieces.

Cole says these pieces will remain in place until  Saturday, August 22.
