We’ve come a long way since the days of cable channels airing the same Christmas specials every year.
Things have gotten exponentially better since the era of A Charlie Brown Christmas.
While some classics are a must-watch every holiday season, there is always room for more titles to add to your rotation, especially while cooped up inside with cold weather (maybe) and excess family bonding.

However, many of us have reached somewhat of a dilemma in recent years. While streaming services have exponentially expanded the Christmas movie genre, their lack of programming has left many of us yearning for the cozy comfort of having a cable channel decide your 25-day viewing schedule of all of the classics.

Fret not this year!

If you are hoping to watch something different and have someone else decide that "what do you wanna watch" question. The Okotoks Film Society has what you are looking for here on the 23rd. We got chatting with the director of the Okotoks Film Festival Katie Fournell

"We're gonna do a bite-size Film Festival ...  we're doing a single online screening of some Christmas short films that independent filmmakers have sent us and then we will also have A Q&A with the filmmakers following the screening"

The 2.5-hour presentation will only cost you 5 dollars per household. A really nice way to spend the holidays with the family.

"Once everybody's starting to get cozy. A great way to kick it off would be to curl up with your family at 7 o'clock on the 23rd and watch these Christmas films."

Now Katie mentions family... we have to keep in mind this is an international film fest.

"We're going to try and keep it family-friendly, but there might be a few warnings on films and will make sure that those are very clear before we screen. We aim to have some family movies in there and also some that maybe we might have a few that are a little bit darker and edgier. But they're just so much fun that we have to show them in the screening."
