The HJHL Carstar Okotoks Bisons kept their winning streak alive on the weekend.

They beat the Ponoka Stampeders 11-1 on Saturday night to stretch their winning streak to nine games.

Scott Brown had a hat trick for the Herd with Jake Snashell adding five assists while Drew Cadenhead stopped 24 of the 25 shots faced for the win.

Their record is now 13 and 1, good for first place in the HJHL.

Meanwhile their neighbours to the south, the High River Brewing Company Flyers suffered a pair of losses.

They lost 5-2 to the visiting Sylvan Lake Wranglers on Friday night at the Bob Snodgrass Rec Plex.

The Flyers outshot their opponents 50 to 36 with Parker Forrest stopping 32 of the 36 shots he faced. The Wranglers also scored an empty netter for the win.

And on Saturday the Flyers were shutout 3-0 by the Medicine Hat Cubs. Once again, the Flyers outshot their opponents by a margin of 30 to 24 with Kashton Payne getting the loss in net, stopping 21 of 24 shots.

The Flyers and Bisons now get set for their next games coming up this weekend.
