With the warm weather we have been experiencing, the countdown to the end of outdoor skating has begun.

Of the 13 outdoor rinks in Okotoks, currently only four are frozen enough to be open.

They are the rinks in Ardiel Park, D'Arcy Ranch, Hunters Glen, and Westridge Close Park.

If you are closer to Diamond Valley and have the itch to strap on your skates, unfortunately your opportunity to skate under blue skies have passed.

As of March 12th, the outdoor Scott Seamen Sport Rink closed for the season.

For those who may have tried to try skating at Scott Seamen Sport Rink may have noticed that the gates are currently locked.

They have done so to keep people safe while the ice fully melts.

If the skating bug is still too strong, there are a few indoor options.

The Centennial Arenas and the Okotoks Recreation Centre in Okotoks are still open for ice skating.

Meanwhile, over in Diamond Valley, the Indoor Oilfields Regional Arena is currently open, but will be closed for the season as of March 24th.

Keep an eye on both Diamond Valley's and the Town of Okotoks websites for skating updates.
