A man is facing charges following a drug trafficking investigation where over $750,000 in drugs and 11 guns were seized.

The Calgary Police Service began their investigation in October 2019 after learning about suspicious parcels being shipped between Calgary and Quebec.

According to police, several parcels heading to Quebec were intercepted in October which contained six kilograms of dried cannabis and 270 bags of cannabis shatter.

The investigation revealed there were ties to two residences in Calgary and a rural property outside of Okotoks.

On April 20, CPS intercepted another package that was on its way to Edmonton. Inside the package was 50 hits of Lysergic Acid Diethylamide (LSD) and about five litres of police believe to be Gamma-Hydroxybutyrate (GHB). The value of the suspected LSD is $500 and the suspected GHB is valued at $25,000.

A CDSA search warrant was executed on Apr. 23 at a resident in Calgary's New Brighton community resulting in a variety of drugs being seized, including:

The estimated total value is said to be $759,010.

Okotoks RCMP also executed a search warrant on Apr.23 at a rural acreage along 17th Street Southeast in Foothills County.

Seized at the property were eight rifles, two shotguns, one revolver, a large amount of ammunition, and a Stolen 2018 GMC Sierra with a value of $100,000.

Police say that Kenny Bergeron, 34, is facing 27 Criminal Code charges and was issued a summons under the Public Health Act.

Bergeron was self-isolating from his family at the time of his arrest as he believed he had come into contact with someone who had tested positive for COVID-19, but police say he was observed having numerous close-proximity interactions with people not belonging to his family prior to his arrest.

Bergeron is scheduled to appear in court May 8.
