The Highwood Mustangs play host to the Drumheller Titans Saturday, November 5, in the Provincial Tier IV high school football playoffs.

It's been a tough year for the Mustangs as they've gone winless for another season, but Coach Brian Brandford is holding out hope for both this weekend's game and the future.

"We're seeing growth this year in what we're doing, and it's just hard to remember how young we are and inexperienced. But I'm feeling good about it. My wife calls it a humbling experience for a guy like me, rather than a tough experience."

He says he's hoping to see more players coming over from the Foothills Eagles program in the years ahead.

"We encourage them. When I go to the schools in the Spring I'm going to be asking the kids in grades six, seven and eight, you know you need to go and get this football experience, because it'll be just great for our school. And by the time we get them, if they get some football background, it just makes it that much easier for them to fit in right away."

Kick-off is 1 o'clock Saturday, November 5th, at Mustangs Field in High River.
