The Calgary police identified the body of a woman found in Forest Heights as 25-year-old Brianna Shelby Kristjanson of Okotoks.

Her body was discovered just after 9 a.m. on Monday April 17, in an alley behind the 700 block of 40 St. S.E. in Calgary.

An autopsy was conducted but the cause of death hasn't been announced.

It's believed her death occurred at a different location from where she was found.

In a news release Staff Sgt. Sean Gregson of the Homicide Unit said they're looking for the public's help.

“While we have received information from the public, we still have a lot of unanswered questions, we continue to ask for the public’s help from anyone who may have recently been with KRISTJANSON, or for any dashcam or CCTV footage from the area so that we can establish an investigative timeline as well as determine how she ended up in the alley.”

A GoFundMe page has already been created with over $8,000 raised so far.

The GoFundMe page reads as follows:

It is with incredibly heavy hearts to announce the passing of Brianna Kristjanson.

She was always a bright star, full of charisma, charm, and wit. Brianna loved big and brightened every room she walked into. She never hesitated to give a compliment or a helping hand to anyone. Brianna was and continues to be loved by her family and friends. She was the mother to a beautiful little boy, Ryker, blessed with her stunning smile, sassy attitude, and energetic personality. Ryker is and continues to be a beautiful reminder of the person Brianna was.

We have started this GoFundMe page to help with the costs of organizing a funeral for Brianna. The funeral will be a way for her family and friends to celebrate the beautiful woman she was and mourn the achievements she was yet to make.

Any remaining funds that do not go towards the funeral expenses will be set aside for Ryker. Anything is appreciated. Thank you.
