Two members of the Okotoks Oilers will have the opportunity to play for their country at this year's World Junior 'A' Challenge in Ontario.

Defensemen Carson Beers and Reece Soukoroff will be in Leduc from December 5-8 at the Team Canada West camp.

Beers, 18 has had a great start to his Sophomore season in the Alberta Junior Hockey League, with three goals and 13 assists in 25 games played with the Oilers.

As for the 17 year old Soukoroff, he was recently named to the NHL's Players to Watch list by Central Scouting. Also in 25 games played the Calgary native has five goals and four assists.

25 players from the AJHL were selected to this year's camp, including eight defensemen from the league.

The World Jr 'A' Challenge is in Whitby and Cobourg from December 13-19.

There have been a handful of players from the Oilers who have played for Team Canada West during the tournament's 10 year history including last year's captain Rhett Gardner who represented the team two years in row.

The Oilers have also had Rhett Holland and Brad Eidsness play for Team Canada West.
