Bambi is driving up insurance rates in the foothills.

Branch Manager for Western Financial Group in Turner Valley, James Hall says a representative from Wawanesa has confirmed animal and car collisions are on the rise.



Hall says Wawanesa has a strong market share in the foothills.

Hall says a claims rep from Wawanesa agreed, wildlife are becoming a serious hazard on rural roadways.



Hall says everyone pays for increases in comprehensive insurance rates.



Hall says while Wawanesa doesn't track the types of animals involved in collisions, vehicles hitting deer is a common occurrence in our area.
