But really, the town is starting up their street sweeping efforts! So if you see a sign on your street make sure you move that car of yours because we 100% can tell if you don't :P

Dear Town of Okotoks,

I am writing to you today in hopes that you will take my suggestion to bring some smiles to our fine community. 

It truly is a strange time… 
Trips are cancelled, borders are closed, and we can’t even head to the mountains to relax. I know this is because we must try our best to social distance. “Flatten the curve!” For a lot of families in our town, this can feel very limiting. They might be feeling anxious or scared – which is normal. But we cannot ride out this pandemic in a constant state of worry.

This is why I propose we change the names of our street sweepers or at least hold a contest to get the noggins of our neighbours up and running. 

In a world of tree-talk and TP renaming the fleet of Elgin Roadwizards that the town currently operates may not be the most pressing matter but here are some example names that 100% kept me up last night to replace the current un-named status of these glorious vehicles. 

(full disclosure I may have stolen a few names) 

-Bruce Springclean

-Dustin Bieber

-Dustin Timberlake

-Her Majesty Clean Elizabeth the Second 

-Street Wise Gamgee

-George Brush and George w Brush 

-Sweep Caroline

These are just some suggestions but the possibilities are endless. 

The dual-engine sweeper with a rather impressive double-scissors lifting mechanism (which if you didn’t know…  is center-mounted for greater stability, rigidity and trouble-free operation) deserves a fun and interesting name as it is a fun and interesting machine. I fully think that this may provide positive morale in an otherwise strange time.
