The province's beef was part of the Alberta showcase at the Smithsonian this summer.

Erik Butters with the Alberta Beef Producers says the group provided the best cattle producers could offer in the U-S capitol and it was well received.

"We went and talked to the chef who cooked the Alberta beef dinner in the Woodrow Wilson Wing of the Ronald Reagen Complex", he says, "and he said it was the best piece of meat he's cooked in his 24 year career as a chef".

Butters says although the Agricultural portion of the festival was concluded early in the program, Alberta Beef continued to have a presence throughout.

Alberta at the Smithsonian wraps up today.
