What a year of giving back it's been for Century 21 Foothills.

As their 12 Months of Giving Campaign comes to an end it only seems right to finish it with the holiday season; the season of giving.

But before diving into this month let's recap last month's charity of choice: Foothills Advocacy in Motion.

They had a goal of raising $2,500 for Giving Tuesday and Blair Gordon, owner of Century 21 Foothills, says they did just that!

"It was successful. I think they raised just around $3000 themselves and then we matched up to $2,500. So I think their final number was $5500 plus...that was very rewarding for them and they were quite satisfied and happy. So that was a good way to end up in November. "

As for December, Gordon says, the Century 21 Foothills team wants to focus on bringing attention to the Salvation Army.

"Just getting it out, promoting it...some presence to raise awareness and make sure that people watch for the bell ringing and contribute and donate and share during this festive season."

Through their Hampers and Kettle Campaign the Salvation Army hopes to raise $110,000 here in the Foothills.

Gordon says to help them hit their goal you can look for them at a number of places.

"They have locations in High River...Co-op, No Frills and I think in Okotoks at Costco, Sobeys and Walmart so people can look for the bell ringing in those locations...It's always a good cause and it's just what Christmas is all about."

Over this past year Blair and Bev Gordon and their team at Century 21 Foothills have raised over one-million dollars for local organizations.

"It's crazy where did the year go? You know, as you review back and look at all the different things in events that have happened and all the charities and causes that have benefited it's quite satisfying and and we're looking forward to to next year. We're making some plans for next year so we'll unveil that in the new year."

He adds that not only did the work they do within the last year hopefully help community members but it also benefited their team.

"It's a good thing to do, gets your mind off business and other things that seem to be burdening people these days. Whether it's you know what. Or the economy? Or the the COVID or whatever it is, right?"
