Southern Albertans enjoyed a few days of warmer weather before a cold plunge.

A number of heat records were broken, including a few in the Foothills area.

High River's March 17 record of 15°, set in 2007, was surpassed by Sunday's 17.5° high.

Claresholm saw two new records.

A new March 17 record of 17.5° surpassed the 15° record set in 1985.

On Monday, a new March 18 heat record of 19.3° was set, replacing 2021's 17.9° record.

It'll be a different story over the next week or so, with highs of around -10° over the weekend and a snowfall warning in place.
