Summer tours of Okotoks are back! The Eagle Street Team hit the town to join members of our community to partake in different walking tours! On Friday, we attended the Full Moon Ghost Tour where we took an eerie look of Okotoks' ghostly past! Famous spooky stories, murder mysteries, and curious crimes were told as we toured Downtown Okotoks! Keep a lookout on the Town of Okotoks' website for upcoming Ghost Tours around the time of Halloween and possibly even during the end of this summer!
Then, on Saturday, the Eagle Team hit the Okotoks streets again! This time we attended the Okotoks Cemetery Tour. Karen Peters, longtime volunteer and member of the Okotoks and District Historical Society, gave a beautifully and respectfully guided tour of the Okotoks cemetery. The free tour took us around the older, historic sections of the cemetery. Stories of the men and women buried in the heritage part of the cemetery were presented; their lives and times, that illustrate not only those individuals, but the history of the Okotoks district itself. The next Okotoks Cemetery Tour will take place on Saturday, August 25 at 2 pm. Meet at the Okotoks Cemetery for historical narratives of some of the most interesting individuals who had made Okotoks their home in the past.
Check out the images below of our time at the tours!
Big thanks to Karen for allowing the Eagle Street Team to be in attendance and for all her knowledge on the history and culture of Okotoks!
Catch the Eagle Summer Street Team at our next adventure: the PDL National Semi-Final Soccer Match!
