The group "100 Women who Care" are looking for another charity to fund.

The idea is, they get together as many ladies as they can, with each contributing $100.

Charities pitch themselves to them and the ladies vote, with the money going to the charity with the most votes.

Organizer Karen Love says their first fundraising event was a success.

"I believe we raised around $2,800, and it actually went to the Foothills Country Hospice. And Dawn, their wonderful Executive Director, is actually joining us on Thursday to let us know what she did with that money."

Karen Love with Dawn Elliot, the Executive Director of the Foothills Country Hospice Society holding the cheques she got from the "100 Women Who Care" back in November.

Love says she's hoping for 30 to 40 women to come out this time, which would see between three and four thousand dollars going to their chosen charity.

This week's nomination goes Thursday night starting at 7 o'clock at the Crystal Ridge Golf Club in Okotoks.

The group gathers every three months to give money to deserving local non-profit groups.
