Jamie Wilkie is the runaway winner of Turner Valley's byelection, getting more votes than the other five candidates combined.

Wilkie becomes the new Councillor on the block with 284 of the 443 votes cast in the byelection held Monday, April 8.

His closest competition was Randy Williamson who had 53 votes.

The results don't become official until Friday, April 12.

Wilkie will be sworn in at the next Town Council meeting Monday, April 15.
