The Wildrose Party is urging the governing NDP to either put the brakes on the oil-patch royalty review, or just hurry up and get it done.

Leader Brian Jean says they need to send the message that the oil industry in Alberta in stable.

Livingstone-MacLeod MLA Pat Stier agrees.

"Anytime you put into the market some sort of review or concern that there's something wrong with the market. There's always the speculation that maybe we better be careful, better draw back, better look elsewhere. So, that is what's happening in Alberta. And I think the royalty review was one of the biggest mistakes they (NDP) made this summer."

The Wildrose would also like the see business and industry leaders along with politicians from all parties get together for a "jobs summit."

The idea would be to review government policy and try to come up with ways to stimulate the provincial economy.
