The latest session of the Alberta Legislature came to a tumultuous end Thursday.

Wildrose MLA for Livingstone-Macleod Pat Stier says their caucus members really came together since the election in the spring.

"We've actually only served in the house now 32 days," Stier says. "But over the past six months that we've been together as a team we've really developed an understanding of who has a lot of the skills that we need for a lot of different portfolios, so we've got great people to speak on a lot of these subjects that come up."

He says their efforts in trying to get the government to re-think Bill 6 may not have been successful in the end, but it wasn't for a lack of trying.

He adds the people across Alberta, who protested the Bill, deserve all the credit for keeping the government's feet to the fire.

Stier says Bill 6 wasn't the only issue dealt with.

"We've had an awful lot of issues to do with education, to do with seniors, to do with all kinds of things like roads and infrastructure and all that kind of stuff," he says. "And we've had great, great people assigned to those subjects and they're doing a great job when they do come up in the house."
