Those looking for legal advice but don't know what to do or think they have to travel to the city to get it, can find it for free in Okotoks Wednesday afternoon.

One local law firm will be offering their services at a pro bono price.

Southern Alberta Law Offices student-at-law James McLeod says the firm is there to help the community.

"Southern Alberta Law Offices and all of the lawyers here will be providing free legal advice for anyone for who wants to come in and speak to us about any legal issues they're facing," he says. "We realize with the economic downturn and some of the situations people are facing it's always nice to get some free advice from a lawyer and that's what we're offering the community."

McLeod says they'll offer advice on just about any legal matter you may have.

"For example if you have any employement issue or something like that you can come down and come speak to us about it, you may have more rights than you think in that kind of situation. If you're a contractor or builder and someone isn't paying you right now come talk to us, we can give you some advice on how to get payment and what your options are moving forward to try and force that payment."

The firm hopes that the community will come utilize their services.

"Well obviously have enough lawyers here to try and make time for anyone that really comes in," McLeod says. "We have a pretty extensive legal team here and hopefully we can handle all issues that come our way."

The free legal advice sessions begin at 3 p.m. and go until 6.
