UCP voters in the Highwood Riding now have a date to pick who'll run for the party in the next provincial election.

The Party has chosen, Tuesday, October 16 as election day with the polls open from 2:30 to 8 p.m. at the Foothills Centennial Centre in Okotoks.

Only party members can vote in the nomination election, and only those who live in the Highwood Riding, which includes Okotoks, Black Diamond, Turner Valley and the M.D. of Foothills within the riding's borders.

Voters in High River won't be part of this vote as the town has been moved into the Livingstone-Macleod riding, which is undergoing it's own nomination race, but has yet to select a day for a vote.

Voters in Highwood have four choices, including current MLA Wayne Anderson, local business owner Dean Leask, the former President of the Highwood PC Constituency Association R.J. Sigurdson and former Okotoks Town Councillor Carrie Fischer.
