My City Care Okotoks wants to make sure all families able to unwrap something special this Christmas.

Their Shop of Wonders allows families to walk through with a personal shopper and pick out gifts for their loved ones free of charge.

Meghan Harvey, team member with My City Care Okotoks, says they try to make the experience as comfortable as possible.

"It takes a lot for them to reach out and even email us for an appointment and when they walk through the door sometimes they're really quiet and of course they don't want to be in that position. So, we just make it as easy as possible for them to walk through the door. We try to have hot chocolate or coffee and treats for them and make them feel really welcome."

Harvey adds they are still looking for donations for a particular age group.

"What we like to have is a range of toys from babies to 18-year-olds because even teenagers like opening up gifts on Christmas and they kind of get forgotten about, teenage boys especially. What people have given us that's really handy for us to have is gift cards for experiences for teenagers or headphones, or things that they can use throughout the year."

Registration deadline is Dec. 12.
