Turner Valley is becoming a more popular place to live.

Housing stats over the last year show a big jump, and new population numbers from the Town's just completed census show a bump in the population as well.

While the numbers aren't official yet, CAO Barry Williamson says with now over 2,500 residents, that opens up a whole new level of funding from the Province and the Feds.

"What it means is any of the grants that we apply for, that's why it has to go to Municipal Affairs, which will endorse it. Once they endorse the number we've come up with, it means that we now have the opportunity to get more grant money on a per-capita basis because our per-capita's up."

Williamson says what most impressed him was the fact 100% of residents took the time to fill out the survey so they could get an accurate count.
