Through the 2017 Municipal Election season The Eagle 100.9 and Okotoks Online will be bringing you profiles of candidates to help you make an informed decision.

There are nine candidates running for two School Board Trustee positions, and Jerry Clark is one of them.

Tell us a little bit about yourself:

"I moved to Okotoks in 2006, I have three kids in the school system and a wife. I'm a business owner in Okotoks, and Okotoks has been good to me so I wanted to find a way to give back. I figure as a Trustee it's an important job and I'd like to go down that path to give back."

What is your platform?:

"A big part of my platform would be diversity and inclusion, it's just about having kids feel safe in a good environment so they can be good productive students. Just making sure the balance is there for the kids as Okotoks grows, and they have everything they need to do well in their education. I think the biggest word would be balance."

Why do you believe you'd make a good Trustee?:

"I'm very new to this so I think what I can offer as a Trustee is an open mind, I'm a good listener, I want to put the kids first. I'm also invested I believe with my kids being in the system, I want to try to do a good job and make the right decisions for the school community and the kids."

Every Okotoks candidate running for the 2017 municipal election will get to opportunity to explain who they are, their platform and why they are running. The candidate profiles are posted at random. If you are a candidate and have not been contacted, please email news@okotoksonline.com
