The Trekcetera Museum in Vulcan has closed its doors for the final time.

Owners Devan Daniels and Michael Mangold says they just weren't able to make a go of it in the small community that shares its name with Spock's home planet.

Mangold says the people who came out over the years are part of a community.

"With the museum here never look at it as just being an owner, we're a group of people here who helped put all this together and I think even if you're not here you're still part of it so you're giving the experience to everyone else." Mangold says.

Party goers and well wishers enjoying the museum for a final time.

He says there were tears shed but at the same time they know they'll be reopening, it just won't be in Vulcan.

"Our next location will have so much potential for growth and expansion of the displays and doing things that we've always dreamed about, more adventure elements to the museum itselt," he says.

The museum will be moving to Drumheller where it's expected they'll get more tourism traffic with the Tyrrell Museum.
