The Town of Okotoks is reminding residents they have access to free sand.

The sand is meant to help combat icy sidewalks and driveways due to the constant freeze-thaw conditions.

Sand can be picked up from the Okotoks Eco Centre and both fire stations on Milligan Drive and Woodhaven Drive.

Anyone wanting sand needs to bring their own bucket and shovel.

The sand will be available as long as it's needed for the rest of the winter.
