On March 23. the town held an open house at the Foothills Centennial Centre dedicated to discussing the future community campus.

Community members were able to come and view the designs and layouts of the project as they voiced their opinions to the Town of Okotoks, Foothills School Division and McElhanney Consulting.

Project Engineer of the town of Okotoks, James Cameron says most of the open houses turn out were locals residing in the Mesa Condos.

"A lot of the people were from the Mesa condos just on the south side of the property and some of their concerns were mostly relating to drainage and fencing, but overall it was fairly positive I think."

Cameron says the community campus is a 40 acre site and will be located off of 32nd St. E across from Holy Trinity Academy.

"The plan for the site is to have a k-9 school which this project is focusing in on right now, likely have a 20 acre site for a High School and whatever is left is for a future town facility of some sort."

Cameron says the next step for the project is to take and integrate the feedback, "we will take the feedback and try to integrate it with our design and really just finalize the road designs and once we get that the rest of the design will just fall into place."

The town is still accepting feedback for the project, if anyone is interested the project concept and feedback forms can be found online here.
