Young Okotoks hockey enthusiasts will have a chance to participate in the Rogers Hometown Hockey Tour live broadcast coming to Okotoks in February of 2019.

Carla Trigiani, Communications Specialist for the Town of Okotoks, says they're accepting applications for children to help choose the three stars at the end of the Calgary, Ottawa game.

"At the end of the game, the kids have to choose who their three stars were. They will be live broadcast with Ron and Tara, and they'll be profiled. Because it's the Calgary Flames and Ottawa Senators, the three stars have to be from those two teams," she said.

Trigiani says they are looking for one boy and one girl who play hockey in the community, who will be chosen by a committee made up of community members, town employees, and the Mayor of Okotoks.

"We have a cross-functional committee. They will be discussing all of the submissions, and making the final selection," she said.

An application along with qualifying criteria must be submitted to the town by December 10th to be considered for the contest.
