Friday isn't just the beginning of the long weekend, it's the end of the Provincial surplus auction of homes in Beachwood Estates in High River.

As you might expect bids have jumped substantially on some of the homes.

The highest bid as of Wednesday afternoon was just over $31,000 while there are a couple in the $20,000 range.

But don't be disheartened bargain hunters.

There are still a few in the single thousand dollar range and one at $400.

The homes have to be moved off the site at the winning bidders cost with-in 160 days after the sale is closed.

The auction closes Friday Feb. 17 at 1 p.m..
