The Eagle 100.9 in partnership with the Okotoks Foodbank have had another successful Feeding The Foothills campaign.

For the past six weeks, the Eagle 100.9 and Foodbank have been in different grocery stores throughout Okotoks collecting non-perishable items and cash donations.

Sheila Hughes, Executive Director of the Okotoks Food Bank is ecstatic with the support Feeding The Foothills received from the community.

"We received 2700 lbs of food, and $1237.00 in cash donations, that's absolutely fabulous. The great thing is it's food we can use, it's things that are on our list that we need right away, and everything is in date so it's fabulous, really good donations."

Members from the Eagle 100.9 and Foodbank stood at the front of grocery stores, and handed out lists of items the food bank needed most at the time, Hughes says it made it easier for people to donate.

"We had a lot of really good comments from people saying this is fantastic, this is so easy, we love that we know what you need right away and we can pick it up, it's quite easy. Some people came just to buy things for us, and it was really heartwarming to see that."

Hughes shares the campaign was a heartwarming experience, and thanks the community for their support.

Blair Gordon Century 21 Foothills, OK Tire Okotoks, and Carstar In Okotoks and High River were also sponsors for this campaign.

The Okotoks Foodbank will next be at Seaman Stadium for Sunday's Dawgs Game, collecting food donations for Diggity's Birthday.

If you're heading to the game some items the foodbank is in need of currently are; cereal, 1L of juice, canned fruit, canned meat, chunky soup, and pasta.
