Despite winter conditions starting to settle in, progress on the Telus PureFibre installation in Okotoks is still going strong.

Douglas Self, Communications Manager at Telus, says the project is running on time.

"We are currently a little 50 per cent complete with the build. We are still targeting our completion timeline of the end of 2018 so in fact the builder's schedule will be complete and the community should be ready for sale by the end of this month," he explains. "So we're targeting November 30 which will be the date residents can sign up for services."

Self says with the weather getting cooler and winter ground conditions starting to set in, they want to make sure residents know they'll still have everything in tip top shape for spring.

"We're still good for right now but we have distributed winter remediation cards to residents to let them know that if there are spots that, maybe we weren't able to fill in a hole or reseed some grass we had to dig up for example, that we will be back in the spring as soon as we can if we're not able to get to it before winter sets in and the ground freezes."
