Saturday's Taste of Okotoks Event was one to go on the summer hit list.

Downtown was filled with stands from multiple restaurants from around the area that participants in the event could try.

Community Events Assistant Rosane Pinchin says that it is a great way for restaurants to get out in the community.

"It is a great opportunity for them to highlight some of their menu items."

There was a large variety of food at the event including Chinese food, baked goods, Italian cuisine and some pub favorites.

Pinchin adds that it is a way to try new foods.

"Okotokians can take advantage of what is in the community, and check out places in the community that they didn't know was here or haven't had a chance to try."

Now that the Taste of Okotoks festival is over Pinchin and the rest of the team are looking forward to Augusts Chili Festival.

"Chili Fest will be very similar to Taste of Okotoks in the fact that it has something for everyone."
