More plans for the Wind Walk development in Okotoks are being discussed, this time involving Foothills School Division and Christ the Redeemer School Division.

Drew Chipman, assistant superintendent for FSD, says the two divisions have been dealing with the developer and the Town of Okotoks.

"They've been very helpful in providing their concept plans, we've been working them, our director of planning Monica Kohlhammer's been working with them, so they're currently proposing a site that's big enough to share between Foothills School Division and Christ the Redeemer School Division so it's pretty exciting news."

He says while it's far too early to tell what grades the school would potentially house with there being no timeline, the division is taking into consideration what current schools have already covered.

"It really is too early to tell, the last number of schools we've been building in Okotoks are K-9, that's the size of Westmount School and the new school on 32nd Street so preliminarily that's what we'd look at."

Chipman adds talks are still in the early stages, with a school site for the new D'Arcy Ranchlands community coming before Wind Walk in terms of priorities.
