Big Brothers Big Sisters Okotoks is ready to bowl their way to success.

This year the annual Bowl For Kids Sake is looking to raise $10,000 for the programming the organization runs in Okotoks.

David Case, communications and marketing specialist for local BBBS, says there's some criteria they're looking for teams to meet.

"There are four to six people per team and we're asking each team member to fundraise a minimum of $125 in order to participate and that's really all you need to come in and bowl."

Case says mentoring programs have huge benefits for kids.

"Over the past five years we've supported hundreds of kids in Okotoks in our classic Big Brothers Big Sisters program but also our teen mentoring program and our in-school mentoring program," he says. "Kids who are mentored are more likely to do better in school, they're less likely to bully, they're more likely to get better jobs later in life, and they're more likely to give back.

Bowl For Kids Sake takes place Mar. 26 at Millennium Lanes in Okotoks.
