A block of businesses in Okotoks were broken into sometime on Sunday night and into Monday morning.

GNC, Supercuts & Tommy Guns all received damage while Supercuts was also robbed during the break-ins.

Supercuts Manager Chrissy Tobin says all break-ins were done through the front doors by the culprits prying the locks, and says it was a shock to see when she came to work on Monday.

"I came in the morning and the GNC owner came over and said we all got broken into last night," she says. "We came in to make sure that none of our supplies or equipment was gone, we tried to avoid walking on anything until the police showed up."

Tobin says the damage is extensive to the West wall in the shop as those inside were trying to tunnel their way into Tommy Guns.

"We had a few holes in our wall heading into Tommy Guns. They also stole about $400 out of our safe and just trashed the place."

She says it's devastating to see and in these tough economic times with the number of break-ins on the rise it's frustrating to become a business that is a statistic in local crime rates.

"It's upsetting for sure, coming into work today was just sad. You're kind of scared hoping to god that nobody came in again the following night and all the girls are shocked and overwhelmed by the whole thing."

If anyone has any information on the break-ins call the RCMP or Crimestoppers.
