Believe it or not, summer break for politicians doesn't always mean no work.

It's some of their busiest times of the year as this is when they spend the most time in their constituencies.

That's exactly the case for Highwood MLA Wayne Anderson, who says his schedule is filling up fast.

"Oh yeah, my calendar is full. I've got a lot of folks upset about the carbon tax, still talking about Bill 6, the unionization of farms. The Municipal Government Act is being redone as well. And several constituents are coming in on a daily basis to meet with me about their own personal issues. And I love meeting with them as you know. I keep my doors open in both High River and Okotoks as much as I can. It's nice to be here Monday to Friday, instead of just Friday's when I'm in session."

Anderson was at Spruce Meadows for "Fire Fit Challenge" and awards.

He's part of the Celebration of High River next weekend, and will host his annual golf tournament on Thursday, June 23.
