The 2019 Student Vote program gave Alberta's elementary and high school students the chance to have their say in who they thought should prevail in the provincial election.

Students cast their votes for the candidates running in their school's electoral division after learning how to research the party's platforms, the voting process, democracy and informed citizenship. Students also took on the rolls of various elections officers while their peers voted.

Twelve schools in Okotoks and the Foothills participated, with some hosting forums for the candidates who answered questions formed by the students.

More than 165,000 students from 1229 schools participated in the program from all 87 electoral divisions in the province, with 165, 527 ballots cast.

The student vote results show the UCP winning a majority government with 49 seats, with the NDP forming the opposition with 35 seats. The Alberta Party also won 3 seats.
