Summer 2016 has brought some crazy weather to the Foothills. 

The past few weeks have been filled with rain, hail, high winds, and violent thunderstorms. 

Sunday afternoon was no exception. Several funnel clouds were spotted in Okotoks and surrounding area. 

Environment Canada confirmed a tornado approximately 10km northeast of Okotoks yesterday.  From the photographs received by Environment and Climate Change Canada, meteorologists concluded that a scale zero tornado occured, with peak winds of 90 and 130 kilometers per hour.
