The Town of Turner Valley is going to be in the national spotlight next week when the show "Still Standing" starts shooting in town.

Mayor Barry Crane says he's beyond excited to be featured.

"I think it's going to be just fantastic! I mean our community has got so much talent, so to be able to showcase it on national TV with such a great show and a great host, Jonny Harris. I think it's just going to be so good for the community and so good for tourism."

He says they're suffering from an embarrassment of riches when it comes to local highlights and people.

"The producers said our community had so many potential story lines it was hard to pick which one's to go with. But they had a plethora of storylines they could follow with artists and businesses, the whole nine yards. So, they were super excited to come out and spend a week doing some background work and they're coming next week. So, it's going to be good."

Crane says they'll start shooting background pieces for the show starting Monday, November 18 and then do the live comedy show starting at 6 o'clock Saturday, November 23 at the Flare 'N Derrick.

The show will air sometime in 2020.

It's the second time a Foothills Community has been in the spotlight on the show, as Vulcan was featured back in 2017.
